2009 - 2010 Recent News

August 6, 2010 - We have worked on upgrading our web site and you will find the "beta" version with the following link. BETA WEB SITE!! The first step has been to include our existing information and the next step is to add additional information. One of the reasons was that we started our site using Microsoft Frontpage and we are now using more advanced software. Almost every page had to be restructured (please be patient) so we are in a better position to use the features of the more advanced software. Please let us know if you have any suggestions.

September 4, 2009 - We added the question and answer period from the 2009 Dinner. Link To Page. We also added the 1976 Opening of the Magna Charta Exhibit. Link. We are also pleased to announce that the 2010 Washington DC Dinner will be held on Saturday, April 17, 2010.

Also a further revision to Form Part One which is a fill in pdf which can be typed and printed. March 14, 2009 - We are including a response form for the Centennial Dinner - Celebrating the Magna Charta - 100 Years of the National Society Magna Charta Dames and Barons - April 18, 2009. Link To Form

February 27, 2009 - We received the DVDs from the Reagan Library sharing the opening reception with remarks by Duke Blackwood, Director of the Reagan Library, and Dean Buckler and a lecture by Dean Buckler. We have added both to our website provide a link to the page which has pictures of the Exhibit as well as links to the Video. Link to Page

January 28, 2009 - The Lincoln Magna Carta is on display at the Reagan Library. There is considerable press content which can be found by searching on the internet and I found some pictures which were taken by the Ventura County Star and received permission to reproduce them on our website, with attribution. October 2, 2008 - The Magna Carta Trust (in association with the Pilgrims Society of Great Britain) held a 50th Anniversary Celebratory Dinner in Middle Temple Hall. We have included pictures and the text of the talk presented by The Rt Hon The Baroness Scotland QC Attorney General. Link to Page.

August 23, 2008 We have added a History Page and the first addition is the Program Book for the 40th Anniversary in 1949. Link to History Page

August 23, 2008 - Additional information about the Lincoln Conference. We have added all of the Video we recorded from the Conference, including the talks and very interesting question and answer sessions. The speakers included (listed in alphabetical order) Tony Benn, Former MP and President of the Stop the War Coalition, Dame Pauline Green, Chief Executive and Secretary, Cooperatives UK, Dr. Liam Fox, MP and Shadow Defense Secretary, Wayne Valis, Washington Lobbyist who served in the White House during the terms of Presidents Nixon, Reagan and George H. W. Bush, Dr. Reg Weaver, President of the National Education Association of America and Vice President Education International, and The Rev. Canon Professor Mike West, Chancellor of Lincoln Cathedral. You are invited to the Page for the Conference.

August 7, 2008 - Our Centennial Dinner will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2009 at the University Club. We have also added considerable video from the June Conference in Lincoln .Link to PageWe have also added some pictures of Chancellor Neilson explaining the purposes of our Society to Prince Charles when he visited Philadelphia last year. July 9, 2008 - We are holding an informal luncheon in Washington, DC. Members were sent a notice by email.

June 29, 2008 - We were represented in Lincoln England for the first Magna Carta Conference held by the University of Lincoln and Lincoln Cathedral. We have included one presentation and will increase that as the files are converted. The talk by Tony Benn is the first. Link to Page

June 23, 2008 - I met with Francis Neate, Esquire, Past President of the International Bar Association, to discuss the Rule of Law.  Link to our conversation. This is an initiative of the IBA and can be explored at their website on the Rule of Law tab. http://www.ibanet.org .

June 20, 2008 - Lincoln Cathedral - Magna Carta Lecture presented by Baroness Elizabeth Butler Sloss,  retired Senior Judge and President of the Family Division of the High Court, 1999 - 2005. March 24, 2008 - Video We express our appreciation to David Rubenstein, Esquire for purchasing the 1297 Magna Carta and placing it on permanent display at the National Archives.

February 24, 2008 - Video - I met with Ashley Mote, Member of the European Parliament, Independent MEP for Southeast-England, who shared some of his views concerning Magna Carta.

January 19, 2008 - We are beginning to send an Electronic Newsletter

To be added January 15, 2008 - We are planning for a password protected members page on the website which will include information of particular interest to our members. We are planning a special email to our members providing the password with the request that it not be given to non members. In our last Newsletter we included the request that our members send an email with MEMBER and their state in the subject line and we have tried to include those in the member list. If you are a member and have not received the email with the password by the end of the week please let us know.

January 14, 2008 - We have increased the list of qualified immigrants to 192 on the Brookfield List - for each immigrant a page has been created which includes the Surety Barons from whom the immigrant descends. We have also added pictures of the insignia to the Brookfield Products Page

January 3, 2008 - Try a silverlight presentation of the opening at the Constitution.

The Perot 1297 Magna Charta has been sold.
